- 1/2 cup butter (softened)
- 1 1/2 cups chopped rhubarb
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 2 tablespoons water

- Press the remaining crumb mixture into an 8×8-inch greased or parchment-lined baking dish.
