  • 2 cans (29 oz each) peaches in heavy syrup
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F.
  2. Pour first can of peaches with juice into a 9×13 baking dish. Drain the second can and add only the peaches.
  3. Mix melted butter, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract into the peaches.
  4. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sugar.
  5. Spread flour mixture over the peach layer evenly.
  6. Drizzle melted butter on top and bake for 15 minutes at 400°F; then reduce to 375°F and bake for another hour until golden brown.
